Dialects.

I think my Teochew sucks to the core, despite the fact that both of my parents speak that dialect language at home daily.

Anyway, my maternal grandmother called. The conversation was (supposed to be) in Teochew.
Gran: Arlo? Mummy leh?

Me: Uhhh. Uhhh. Uhhh.

Gran: ARLO?

Me: Uhhh. Cheut heui. (Cantonese for 'went out'.)

Gran: Ar? Went out ah?

Me: Ah.

Gran: Your auntie bought shoes which didn't fit me. What's your size? Qik hor ah? (Teochew for 'is it seven?')

Me: Uh... Wa ka dua. (Teochew for 'I'm bigger than that'.)

Gran: Orh. *silence* Tell your mum to call me when she comes back.

Me: Orh.

Gran: Ah. *slams down phone*
As you can tell from the above conversation, we aren't that close.

And I'm more proficient in Cantonese than my own dialect now...

:/

黑暗裡,我真想牽住你的手,從此不放。
好友問道我是否又陷入愛河…… 我立刻反駁。

其實,我都唔知點答。

若果我明目張膽,我知道你的反應會是如何。
所以放心。

我會演下去。
On a random note, I've fallen in love with Nikon DSLR cameras...

The feel of the camera body, the quirky shutter sounds, the placement of each button and simply this security it gives me.
Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooops.
I still love you though, Canon EOS 450D.

And stop tempting me, you horrible Canon EOS 500D.

...

Shut up and sit down, Nikon.
